MACKIE DEMOS DIGITAL X BUS 400 PRODUCTION CONSOLE AT NAMM

January 20, 2005 - Anaheim, CA, NAMM - Mackie is using this year’s NAMM show to demonstrate the advanced surround sound capabilities of their eagerly-anticipated Digital X Bus 400 (X.400) Digital Production Console.

Scheduled to ship in early Q2, 2005, the X.400 shares the same basic architecture as the Digital X Bus 200 (X.200), which began shipping to authorized dealers in late 2004. Both models offer a unique dual touch-screen interface, 96kHz operation (optional to 192kHz), on-board automation and DSP, twenty-five 100mm Penny+Giles optical faders, fully configurable I/O card cage and a FireWire I/O card option for streaming to/from desktop or laptop computers. Both are also compatible with select VST plug-ins and both integrate Mackie Control Universal functionality for controlling Pro Tools, Logic and other popular audio software applications.

The X.400 incorporates an up-market feature set designed with professional recording and post-production applications in mind. This includes an expansive 96 x 96 channel I/O matrix at 96kHz (or a 48 x 48 channel matrix at 192kHz) with an additional 8 channels of processing. The X.400 also gets more advanced surround mixing and monitoring functionality including a 24-bus architecture, flexible panning assignment, bus/return switching to an assignable speaker matrix, as well as "fold down" monitoring. The dXb.400 also ships with a Universal Audio UAD-1 Powered Plug-ins™ Card pre-loaded, providing instant access to popular plug-ins like the Teletronix™ LA-2A™ and 1176LN™ compressors.

The complete Mackie product line will be on display at the NAMM Convention in Anaheim, California, January 20-23, 2005, booth #6690. Mackie will demo the X.400 with five HR626 Active studio monitors, and dual HRS120 subwoofers functioning in full 5.1 mode.
