Mackie® Once Again Brings Pro Technology to the Masses with New HDA System
London, England - 12 September 2010 - Mackie today announces a groundbreaking new addition to its popular HD Series — the Mackie HDA High-Definition Arrayable Powered Loudspeaker. Designed in collaboration with the EAW acoustical design team, the HDA is a professional, powerful and extremely flexible compact line array. Configurable with up to four per side, the HDA can handle anything from mid-size houses of worship to large clubs in a design that is more cost-effective than ever before possible.
“The HDA is another example of what Mackie does best: delivering high-end pro audio technology to the masses,” said Ben Olswang, Mackie brand product manager. “Thanks to the integration of EAW’s design expertise, the HDA sets an entirely new professional standard in the portable live sound market that is simply not achievable by our competitors.”
Each HDA module delivers 1200W of peak system power and houses an EAW-designed 12˝ LF driver and dual Beyma® 1.7˝ HF compression drivers, mounted into a multi-cell horn. HDA incorporates Mackie’s high-definition digital processing, which corrects inherent sonic issues that arise with all horn-loaded drivers, resulting in unbelievably accurate sound. With a 100x20 coverage pattern and integrated rigging hardware that allows for up to four HDAs and two Mackie HD1801 Powered Subwoofers per side, a fully-realized HDA rig can easily handle large audiences with the consistent, predictable coverage that only a line array can offer. A three-position voicing switch provides easy set up of larger rigs and up to two modules can be pole-mounted directly above a subwoofer, for the ultimate high-output portable PA system.
With the addition of the HDA, Mackie now offers a full range of high-definition loudspeakers including the ultra-compact HD1221, the HD1521 2-way and HD1531 3-way loudspeakers, and the 15” HD1501 and 18” HD1801 subwoofers.
The HDA High-Definition Arrayable Powered Loudspeaker will be available worldwide in Q4. The HDA will have a retail price of $2099.99 USD, €1999.00 including tax and £1649.00 including VAT. To see the HDA and other models in the HD Series, visit Mackie during the PLASA Show on Stand 1-F4 from 12-15 September 2010 in London, England.
