Are the HR series monitors magnetically shielded?

Yes, they are magnetically shielded to prevent distortion of your computer screen or television set. You can place your HR824, HR624, or HR626 directly next to them with no problems.

Can I leave my HR series monitors on all the time?

Yes, the monitors can be left on, even when not being used. It would be suggested to turn off the monitors when not using them to prolong the life span of the product.

Should I turn them off from the front or the back? What’s the difference between the 2 power switches?

The power mode switch on the rear panel is the master power switch. The power switch on the front of the monitor has no effect if the power mode switch on the rear panel is in the off position. If the power mode switch on the rear panel is in the on position, the power switch on the front will turn the monitor on and off. If the power mode switch on the rear panel is in the auto position, the power switch on the front will turn the monitor on and off if signal is being run through the speakers. Note: There is a slight delay for the signal to kick in when toggling the front panel switch on the HR624 and HR626 monitors.

The little cone on the woofer of my HR series monitor has been pushed in! Does this affect the sound of the speaker? How can I fix it?

Fortunately the cone is just a dust cover for the voice coil on the woofer. This does not affect the sound quality of the speaker at all. You can easily pull the cone back out by using some double-sided scotch tape. Just put some on your finger and lightly pull up on the cone. Now, it is possible that if the cone was pushed in far enough or hit very hard that the voice coil could have been damaged. In that case, you would easily notice distortion coming from the woofer. If this is the case, you’ll need to take it to an authorized service center for repair.

What is the optimal speaker placement?

The HR series monitors were designed to be placed in a vertical position. If placing them horizontally, place them so that the woofers are toward the inside. The monitor should be placed at ear level, approximately 3-6 feet apart in a tri-lateral position with the speakers sweet spot focused at the engineer.
