No, there needs to be a computer contected to the units. It will not operate if connected to only a 5VDC USB power source.

Both units connect via USB 2.0
They are both powered by the 5V supplied through the USB connection. No external power source is required.
Both Artist 1•2 and Producer 2•2 use the Cirrus Logic. These boast an impressive dynamic range of 114dB.
The Hi-Z button changes the impedance of the 1/4” input. This allows you to connect a guitar or bass directly to the input.
Direct monitoring gives you the ability to hear channels 1 and 2 right from the preamp. It is the unprocessed signal going into the unit.
This is perfect for latency-free monitoring of what you are recording.
Both units are high quality USB audio interfaces. The Artist 1•2 offers 1 Onyx microphone preamp and 1 Line/Instrument input.
The Producer 2•2 offers 2 combo jacks with 2 Onyx microphone preamps that will accept either XLR or 1/4” inputs.
Additionally, Producer offers a mix for direct monitoring and MIDI connectivity.
The headphone output impedance is 10 ohms.
Both units will work with Mac or PC. Windows 7®(32 and 64 bit) or Later.
Minimum hardware requirements: Intel Core 2 Duo 2 GHz processor 4 GB RAM USB 2.0 port.
For the latest driver information please check our website.
Both units will run at either 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, 96 kHz, or 192 kHz. They will both have a bit depth of either 16 or 24 bits.
To start, check your USB cable. If using a USB-C equipped mixer or microphone, make sure that you're using the USB-C to USB-A cable that came in the box. Though it may seem counter-intuitive, you cannot use a USB-C to USB-C cable. If you need to connect the unit to a USB-C port on your computer, you can use a USB hub or USB-A to USB-C adapter.
For ProFXv3, VLZ4, Onyx, DL, or DLZ mixer owners running Windows, make sure that you're using the latest driver for your product. Without the correct driver installed, Windows will not recognize your mixer. You can get the latest driver from two places:
- The Drivers/Downloads section of our Support dropdown
- Your specific mixer's product page found in the Products dropdown
Phantom power (48v) is only supplied through pins 2 and 3 on the XLR connection. Your instrument or line level devices are safe.
