California Prop65

You might have noticed recently that all Mackie product packaging sold in the US has this new warning – Warning: Cancer and Reproductive Harm

We’ll give you a moment to let your eyebrows lower to their normal position.

Back in 1986, California passed the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act to ensure the health safety of California residents. Today this law requires manufactures to provide warnings to Californians on any product that includes chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. The warnings are intended to help California consumers make informed purchasing decisions. Recently, California made more addendums to this law, requiring more manufacturers and companies to comply like restaurants, entertainment venues and consumer brands. Mackie joins several manufacturers and retailers in our industry that have added these new warnings to products and websites, meeting the new standards according to the California law.
